Earlier this week, the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ were rumored to launch with the Exynos 2500. However, Samsung’s Mobile President TM Roh hinted at the series arriving with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. According to tipster @chunvn8888 on X, the South Korean tech giant is skipping the Exynos on its new flagship phones. The Exynos 2500 has reportedly been canned and the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ will launch with the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

He initially stated that the Snapdragon 8 Elite will power the Galaxy S25 series besides the S25 Ultra, but later clarified that all three models feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset. Chun Bhai further added that Samsung’s plans to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 7 with the Exynos 2500 have also been cancelled. The chip for the Galaxy S25 FE was also revealed in this tweet. It will apparently be equipped with the Exynos 2400. To recall, the Galaxy S24 FE launched with the Exynos 2400e, which is an underclocked version of the Exynos 2400 that powers the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+.

In other words, its successor might only get a minor upgrade next year. Keep in mind that this is still just an unconfirmed report at the moment, so take this report with a pinch of salt for now. In related news, the entire Galaxy S25 lineup had its dimensions leaked with a slimmer body compared to its predecessors. The Ultra variant was also spotted in 4 color options. More details regarding the S25 series should surface soon, so stick around for more updates.
